Certified Transformational Coach
Certified Mindfulness Meditation Teacher
Credentialed Psychedelic Sitter & Guide
Denise is a Transformational Coach and RN living and working in private practice in Kingston, Ontario. Her work is grounded in transcendent realms of thought and practice derived in part from graduate work in Transpersonal Psychology and Jungian-based explorations on shadow. More recent trainings in Hakomi, Integrative Somatic Trauma Therapy, and Coaching for Self leadership (IFS), have added a somatic element to her work.
Compassion and mindfulness practices also inform her approach to care. After receiving the Margaret Leith Bruce Faculty Award for Compassionate Care from Queen’s School of Nursing (2019), she completed Compassion Cultivation training through the Compassion Institute. This was followed by a two-year Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Certification program with Jack Kornfield and Tara Brach (2021-2023).
Most recently, trainings, research, and offerings have focused on the Divine Feminine principle and the Goddess archetype; her historic suppression and associated trauma; and the process of healing and reclaiming this as an essential part of the “wholing” process.
These trainings and experiential offerings provide a rich foundation for coaching sessions. They also lend themselves to preparatory and integrative work integral to sacred plant medicine experiences. As a Credentialed Psychedelic Sitter, Guide and Breathwork Facilitator (Centre for Medicinal Mindfulness) Denise has co-facilitated numerous Sacred Cannabis Ceremonies, many of which have included the invocation of the Divine Feminine. Additional psychedelic trainings have been completed through Therapsil and Gathering Groups.
Denise offers several services reflective of her psychospiritual orientation.
Transformational Coaching (TC) is a fundamental offering. This style of coaching is grounded in the principles and practices of Transpersonal Psychology – a sub-field of psychology that integrates western psychology with the insights and understandings of eastern spiritual traditions. Foundational to this practice, is the understanding that client’s have their own innate wisdom and capacity for change. Through deep listening and gentle and compassionate inquiry clients access unconscious beliefs and attitudes that influence behaviour and act as obstacles to achieving what they say they want. Informing the coaching process, is a mindfulness-based and somatic oriented method of assisted self-study called Hakomi. When used with TC, different choices and deeper states of self-knowing become accessible.
NOTE: Transformational Coaching is NOT psychotherapy and does not focus on illness or a psychological diagnosis. It is not a replacement for traditional therapy but is a complementary tool for those who are seeking clarity, change, greater self-understanding, and/or an enhanced sense of fulfillment in their lives.
Psychedelic Integration Coaching
Psychedelic Integration Coaching (PIC) combines the foundational practices of Transformation Coaching, Jungian psychology, and alchemy, with training in psychedelic practice. PIC focuses on clients who need help preparing for a sacred plant medicine experience, as well as those who have journeyed and need help integrating what they’ve experienced.
