We have Blue Cross Providers on site.
Spear Counselling & Psychotherapy offers Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) can help individuals suffering from trauma, depression, and other mental health concerns. Art is derived from EMDR, and uses eye movements to quickly alleviate symptoms associated with past traumatic memories. ART can alter how the brain stores and recalls traumatic images and memories, reducing the negative physical and emotional effects they create.
At Spear Counselling & Psychotherapy, we aim to offer innovative and advanced trauma therapy that is efficient, effective, and creates sustainable and long-lasting change. We have both trained and certified EMDR therapists who provide EMDR as an evidence-based treatment for PTSD and other issues. EMDR is a bottom-up, somatic based approach to treating trauma that was originally developed for the treatment of PTSD. EMDR uses bilateral stimulation to help "unstick" and reprocess painful and traumatic memories so that they are not impacting your current functioning in such an intense and/or negative way.
Spear Counselling & Psychotherapy offers Internal Family Systems Therapy, which is an evidence-based and integrative approach to psychotherapy used to treat a variety of mental health conditions. IFS helps us understand our internal system and the parts of ourselves that are wounded, protective, vulnerable, and burdened by past trauma. IFS allows us to deepen our relationship with these parts by helping us understand, find compassion for, and integrate these parts to restore balance and harmony within our systems and be more self-led.
At Spear Counselling & Psychotherapy, we believe in the power and magical alchemy of mixing multiple therapeutic modalities. We provide counselling and therapy using IFS informed EMDR, which gently combines both approaches, to create a gentle yet powerful and effective trauma therapy for treating PTSD and complex trauma. The combination of IFS and EMDR is a comprehensive and integrative treatment approach, leading to positive and sustainable outcomes for clients.
At Spear Counselling & Psychotherapy, we provide counselling and therapy support to those wanting to explore psychedelics and/or deepen their relationship with psychedelics, as well as those who may be in need of assistance after a psychedelic experience. If you have a part that feels curious about psychedelics as a catalyst for change, we are able to support you with preparation and integration through your journey.
